Why You Should Be On Google+

googeplus

I’ve been preaching to my clients for awhile to get on Google+. Truly, I’m starting to annoy myself with how often I push people to get on it, but I promise, it’s for good reason.

There are countless people out there claiming to be social media “gurus”, “experts”,”ninjas” or [insert trendy term here]. I’m NOT one of those people, but I do spend a lot of time researching and reading about the latest online marketing and social media trends. I do this so that I can stay ahead of the wave, and I want to make sure my clients stay ahead with me.

So, let us let the stats speak for themselves.

- There are over 1 billion registered users and 359 million active users on Google+.
- The +1 button is served 5 billion times per day.
- Google+ is growing 33% per year
- Google+ dominates in search results, compared to Facebook and Twitter. Google DID create it.
- A recent study estimates that Google+ will surpass Facebook by 2016.

To get the most out of Google+, here are a few tips:

1) Start an Account (seriously).
2) Build your relationships. Add people that you know (or want to know) to your circles and engage.
3) When you share content don’t just post and walk away. Add your personal context, respond to comments that are left, and (broken record) ENGAGE!
4) Make sure your posts are public, so they are shareable and viral-ready.

Rukus2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 12, 2013 - Just three years into creating customized theme music and walkout music for MMA fighters and fight companies around the globe, Fight Music Producer Mikey Rukus has signed a record agreement with Debar Recordings, a division of Debar Holdings Ltd. based out of Orlando, Fl. The agreement includes stateside and international distribution of Rukus’ debut album on digital platforms and manufactured CDs that will ship to Best Buys stores and several other brick and mortar establishments across the US.

The album itself will consist of a collection of some of Mikey’s most notable walkout songs created for many UFC veterans such as Mark Hunt, Colin “Freakshow” Fletcher, as well as Invicta FC veterans such as Atomweight Champion Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson. Along with these songs will be a few of Mikey’s original tracks including one inspired by UFC President Dana White as well as an exclusive track that will only be available on the album.

“This was something that totally came out of left field, wasn’t expecting anything like this. But it’s nice to come across a company that understands what it is I’m trying to do and have the same ideas that I have in terms of extending my brand within the mixed martial arts market. The timing was right, and they are 100% on board with supporting my journey and I am grateful for that.” Rukus says.

The album, easily titled “MMA Fight Music”, will be available on the digital platforms on Tuesday September 17, 2013. It will be found on iTunes, Pandora, Google Play, XBOX Store and other similar outlets. Hard copy CDs will hit store shelves in approximately 6 weeks. The first batch of albums purchased will receive a free Mikey Rukus t-shirt signed by Mikey himself.

Mikey Rukus has worked with over 150 different clients in the MMA industry and created over 200 theme songs in the last 3 years. A true workhorse in assisting companies and fighters alike raise their brand awareness through custom music, Mikey’s passion for storytelling and the sport of MMA has brought this husband and father of 8 children to this point in his music career. Be a part of history, and download your copy of “MMA Fight Music” on 9/17 by the industry’s first ever Fight Music Producer, Mikey Rukus.

Local Paramedic and Competitive Physique Athlete Takes on MMA Fighters

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 27, 2013 - MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world and, as a result, is highly competitive. While extensive training in each of the martial arts is necessary and important, fighters are quickly realizing that they need more – a winning edge.

Angela Robinson, a local paramedic based in Calgary, Alberta, has been a competitive physique athlete for ten years and is now transitioning to her first business venture. With an extensive background in health and wellness, Robinson has a strong passion for nutrition and is sharing her knowledge through Jagged Edge Lifestyle, a company focused on nutritional and lifestyle coaching.

Since opening for business this year, Jagged Edge is gaining ground and fast. The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Community has taken notice and an impressive roster of fighters are joining the Jagged Edge movement.

Edmonton’s Ryan Ford (21-4), AFC Welterweight Champion, is coming off a string of wins. His last fight was against The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Alumnus Michael Hill. Ford defeated Hill after an impressive 4 rounds with a broken arm. Ford has recently signed on with Jagged Edge Nutrition to help support his training with solid nutrition as he heals his injury and comes back stronger than ever to defend his title.

UFC Veteran Kalib Starnes (15-8) is also looking to take his performance to a new level and has hired Angela to help him tune in his nutrition. Kalib made his professional debut on June 24, 2006 at the Finale of TUF 3, winning via rear naked choke over Danny Abbadi. His last fight with the UFC was on April 19, 2008 in Montreal for UFC 83. Starnes is looking to make his comeback and has started to focus on his nutrition to gain that extra edge.

Also, joining Starnes and Ford, is up and coming Louis Fisette (6-1) who is preparing to compete on this season of TUF. Fisette says of his nutrition, “my diet just makes training easier to do. It’s not some specialty food or anything, just simply healthy full meals. The one-on-one attention is key in keeping me on track and keeping me motivated.” Angela Robinson adds, “MMA is still a brand new sport and many of the athletes don’t know how to properly diet to support their training. Everything I do is completely personalized to support the level of training the fighters are doing.”

Angela Robinson, Ryan Ford, Kalib Starnes, and Louis Fisette are available for interview by phone, in-person, or in writing.
